YOUR LIGHT, NOT THEIR SHADOW.

Hey young one,

I want you to always remember something really important, your light is stronger than anyone else’s shadow.

Sometimes, other people’s shadows fall on you. Maybe it’s their anger, their worries, or their doubts. And sometimes, it feels heavy, like you’re carrying something that isn’t even yours. You might even start asking, Wait… is this me? Am I really like that?”

The truth is, those feelings don’t belong to you. Their anger is theirs. Their fear is theirs. Their sadness is theirs. You are not their shadow. You are you, with your own heart, your own choices, and your own light.

And your light matters.

So what can you do when someone’s shadow tries to cover you?

Take a pause.
Breathe in, breathe out. Remember, this moment will pass.

Talk it out.
Share with someone you trust, a parent, teacher, or friend. Don’t keep heavy feelings locked inside.

Write, read or draw.
Put your feelings on paper. Sometimes drawing your light or writing down your thoughts can help you see clearly.

Do something joyful. Play, read, dance, sing, or spend time outside. Happiness is like sunlight, it pushes shadows away.

Set boundaries.
It’s okay to step back if someone’s mood is hurting you. Protecting your peace is not being selfish, it’s being wise.

And most of all, never forget, you get to decide who you are. Not their shadow. Not their voice. Only you!

So keep shining your light, because the world needs it, and no shadow is strong enough to take it away.
