Hello Young One,
What’s that thing you’ve been sitting on for so long that you could start?
You know it.
That thing you keep thinking about when you’re in the shower, stuck in traffic, lying in bed at night or any moment you’re alone. That idea that lights you up a little, but also scares you a lot.
You’ve probably told yourself all the usual lines;
I’m just too busy right now.
I’ll start when things calm down.
I need to do a little more research.
Next year, for real this time.
When my parents are more stable.
When I have more money, more confidence, more clarity, and so on.
And then weeks turn into months. Sometimes into years. And that thing? It just sits there. In the back of your mind, taking up space comfortably.
The trick is, you don’t need everything figured out. You don’t need to wait for perfect timing. You just need to take the first tiny, wobbly step.
Start scared, but start. Take one step. Write the first sentence. Sign up for the class. Ask for the meeting. Create the outline. Register for the course. Make the trip. Call or visit that person. Ask for help. You don’t need to leap, you just need to move. Test it out. Do it badly. Do it scared. Just start.
You owe it to yourself to see what happens when you stop sitting on the thing, and actually begin. Because nothing changes until something begins.
