FROM NDUKA’S DIARY
πππ
There was once a man called Obinna who did something sacrilegious in his hometown, which made everyone around him angry, and they didn’t trust him anymore.
One day, he told himself that he was living a lonely life, which was not the best way to live. So, he decided to go to his brother who also found it hard to trust him and told him about his life. Then his brother said to him: “You have to do things for which people will trust you”. “Things like what?” asked Obinna. “Figure it out yourself,” answered Chukwuemeka. “Ohβ¦ okay, thanks for your time. ” Obinna said.
“You’re welcome. But remember that you have to start with the basics”, Chukwuemeka reminded him.
As Obinna left the house, Chukwuemeka said to himself, “I know he’s going to change.” When Obinna went home, he thought of what to do for people to trust him again, then at that point, he remembered what his brother told him: “You have to start with the basics”. He then decided to go to his parents and beg for forgiveness, but when he reached their house and knocked at the door, what he heard was “Get out of my house Obinna”. Disappointed, he left their house and went back to his house.
The next day, each member of his household received a letter from Obinna at their door. Each one that read the letter was touched, especially his parents. They later called him and said that they had forgiven him. Some days later, some people started talking to him and asking about his welfare. As surprised as he could be, he went to his parents and asked why all those things were happening. They said, “Because you were repentant and needed the trust you deserve.” Obinna was very happy and promised never to return to that kind of attitude.
