I have seen people who are very smart, intelligent, educated, hard-working, resilient and have virtually every attribute of success, yet they struggle in life.
Every advice you want to give them, they already know and every suggestion you offer, they have already applied. They have the character, the intellect, and the strategies to command success, yet it’s far-fetched.
Some are mentors whose mentees are doing better than. They have the name and fame but they’re barely surviving, nothing more. They have exhausted every approach or process that can change their life for the better, and have retired to fate.
This tells us that beyond doing our best to live the best life we want, we are saved not by work but by grace through faith which is a gift from God (Eph 2:8). The Greek word Charis is translated as Grace or Favor. It teaches that as important as physical and mental growth are, they should not take the place of spiritual growth which grace and favor represent.
Jesus did not only grow physically and mentally, he also grew spiritually, and through that, he was regarded favorably by his people and by God (Luke 2:52).
This knowledge is foundational to a child’s development. Every child needs to be taught how to walk in the opportunities that favor and grace create. Be it in school, church, any social circle, and eventually in their workplace, they need to find and embrace the favor and grace of God.
As far as success is concerned, favor and grace are wonder twins and their unbeatable combination should not be taken for granted in our walks of life. Just like nutrition and education are fundamental in a child’s growth, favor and grace are essential in attaining a successful and fulfilling life.
Parents need to communicate this clearly to their children and encourage them to build healthy relationships with God and man and to train them in a godly direction.
Draw near to God and He will draw near to you (James 4:8). This means that we can attract God’s favour by aligning to His principles and living according to His words.
Our Christian hope is rooted in the knowledge that God is with us and Jesus is our point of light when in darkness. In this darkness, Faith and favor are the compasses pointing to light that brings liberty and peace.
Let us understand and embrace the works of these wonder twins. It may be the solution to the stuntings and delays we experience.
