FROM NDUKA’S LIBRARY.
It was a cool morning. The song of the birds and the breeze were something to keep people sleeping and among those were a family which was simple, made up of a son- Henry, a daughter- Floria, the father- Mr Nelson, and the mother- Mrs Norah.
They all enjoyed their simplicity and were satisfied with what they had.
“Wake up! Wake up, everyone, and get ready for the day’s activities! “Mrs Norah, who was already awake, said to the rest that were asleep peacefully. “Aw, mummy! I want to sleep for some more time, “Floria said drowsily. “Don’t worry, I will let you sleep for as long as you want by tomorrow and when you two wake up, you will prepare breakfast and do other chores” Mrs Norah jokingly said referring to the kids and then they all laughed. “Okay, can we get back to business now?”said Mr Nelson.
“Yes commander in chief,” said Henry, saluting and then walking away like a soldier.
“Nice leadership honey,” Mrs Norah said, patting Mr Nelson’s back.
“What are parents for if they can not care for their children?” Mr Nelson said smiling. Then the duo went to the kitchen for work.
At the dining table, the children were waiting for their food. Henry was about to talk when their mum came in. “Breakfast is served,” Mrs Norah said, putting the tray of food on the table. “Honey, it’s time to eat,” Mrs Norah said loudly with no response from Mr Nelson, who was inside the room. “Daddy” chorused the kids.
“Yes, children,” Mr Nelson said, coming out of the room. “Okay, your children are more important than your one and only wife, right?” Mrs Norah said with her hand on her chest and her head up. Mr Nelson, Henry, and Floria were looking at her with mouth open, and by the time she realized what was going on, Henry and Floria were laughing silently, and then the parents joined the laughter.
