RUPTURE THE SILENCE.

“Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.” – Dietrich Bonhoeffer.

Silence can be so detrimental when speaking up is required. It can make one lose a lot, and cause regret and a sense of guilt.

Silence can be interpreted as both positive and negative. On the positive angle, the only time to accommodate silence is while listening, during a verbal attack, while maintaining privacy or during prayers or reflections. Aside from these, it is important to speak up…

Make your contributions.
Express your concerns.
Air your opinion.
Command that situation.
Discuss the opportunities.
Share your thoughts.
Deliberate on the issues.
Analyse the difficulties.
Confront the problem.
Share the burden.
Pray out the difficulties.

Those who are expressive are usually confident, authentic, self-assured, enthusiastic, passionate, and free will. I learnt this late and made a lot of mistakes while being silent. I resolved to encourage my children not to do the same and I urge every child to speak up when necessary. The pain of remembering the things you failed to say and the consequences of that, hits differently.

Stand up for you!
Stand up for others!!
Speak and be heard!!!
