ON FUTURE-FOCUSED (FF) CURRICULUM.

To be honest, in the current competitive educational landscape, distinguishing oneself is not just a luxury; it is a necessity.

For schools in Nigeria to truly distinguish themselves, they need a transformative initiative that will enhance the essential element currently lacking in their conventional educational framework.

They have to provide an outstanding educational curriculum, one that connects with educational leaders worldwide. It should be a transformative offering that will change the way their school system is perceived in terms of value.

They must overcome a negative reputation that distinguishes them and provide something phenomenal that aligns with the hopes and dreams of both students and parents from a global perspective.

They need a creative spark that will lead the change to turn problems into opportunities.

They should offer a practical, hands-on method for developing competence and skills that are in great demand worldwide.

They should adopt practical AI abilities, entrepreneurial mindset, and skills for personal efficiency.

They should have the ability to create technology, rather than just utilize it.

Although some parents and institutions are doubtful about the implementation of AI in schools, China and several other countries have incorporated AI-centered curricula into their education systems. In February 2024, 184 schools in China were selected to take part in a pilot program designed to explore AI education.

That’s the innovative transformative movement that’s needed in the present dispensation, one that would enhance students’ digital skills and problem-solving abilities.

I eagerly anticipate a future when Nigeria will be one of the global educational leaders that will attract foreign students and investors. By not focusing on past errors or current issues, it is achievable!
