When I first started my business Chykeann Consults, I thought success meant having as many customers as possible. We had a marketing team who ran after everyone. My believe was that the more clients we had, the happier we would be. That was true but beyond that happiness was the exhaustion that came with chasing crowd, the type that easily make tiredness, stress, and frustration set in.
With time, I discovered something important: you don’t need everyone, you just need the right ones. A few solid connections, the ones who truly value what you do are enough to keep you in business, happy and at peace. Those high quality clients who value you are worth more than a hundred others who only bring head@ches.
Thus, we made some adjustments that resulted in the shift and autonomy we now enjoy @ Chykeann consults
It’s the same way in life, especially for the young ones in school. Imagine you try to be friends with everyone. Some might only call you when they need help with homework, others may leave you out when something fun is happening. You end up drained, trying to keep everyone happy. But if you have just a few true friends, the ones who laugh with you, support you, and stay by your side, you’ll be much happier.
So to the young ones who are finding connections in life, don’t chase numbers whether it’s customers in business or friends in life or paddies in school.
Don’t chase popularity, chase authentic friendships.
Learn to recognize who truly supports you versus who only uses you.
Choose people who inspire you, push you to be better, and celebrate your wins.
Respect yourself enough to step away from people who drain your energy.
Focus on finding the ones who matter, who bring peace and joy. A few good people are worth more than a crowd of the wrong ones.
