In the whole earthly mission of Jesus Christ, He related with everyone He met with the beauty hidden in them. The tax collector, the prostitute, the thief, and all the people we consider evil in human eyes were discerned by Him with the eyes of beauty. With that, He made repentance conducive and easy for them.
This has proven to be the best pattern to mould a child. Call out their beauty, appreciate them, and share it with them.
There are times in life when we ‘loose guard’ doing the right things when the world around us seems to be crumbling and we’re left to bear the weight of life with our weary souls. Yet, the love, mercy, and compassion of God call out our beauty rather than judging us.
That’s exactly what every child needs. Call out their beauty first before condemning their ills or correcting them. Show them the beauty they possess before criticizing them. Make them realize their strengths while disapproving of their weaknesses.
We are called to call out the beauty in each other, not the beauty defined by looks but by the strengths we see in each other.
Every parent, teacher, caregiver, and adult who has a child under their care is required to call out the beauty in every child, not always their weakness, their background, their religion or race, and other things we set as parameters in judging life.
To raise a happy child is to recognize the beauty in him and nurture it against what is ugly, what is sinful, what is wrong, and all that is unpleasant in their life.
Humanity demands that we call out each other’s beauty, strengths, and positive attitudes, instead of judging and condemning and finding faults always.
“The potential possibilities of any child are the most intriguing and stimulating in all creation.” – Ray L. Wilbur
