NURTURING OUR CHILDREN RIGHT and especially SONS

Child Upbringing 2

A mother’s view:
I remember when I had my baby, I was overjoyed it was a girl and not a boy. As many mothers, I thought there were many options to showing off my little girl.
I would make her hair into different styles, wear her dresses, trousers, dungarees, shorts, skirt in many different colours and teach her how to cook. I knew we would be friends considering that I had once been a girl myself…
These days, when I meet men who don’t seem to know how to be men, I wonder what I would have done if I had a son. So I made a list and thought to share it.

I would teach my son:
1. To speak courteously to a lady because when you don’t shout, then people are forced to listen.
2. To dress properly to represent himself, sometimes trying to make the belt match the shoes?
3. Not to dig for gold in his nose, especially when he is with a girl.
4. To be sure that everything around d crotch is in their proper places so that he won’t be shifting limbs around when he thinks the lady isn’t watching.
5. To acquire a sense of humour and not be asking for interpretation of jokes.
6. To be informed about common issues and not be asking who Larry King was.
7. To recognise when a lady is making a pass and not offer a drink when he should offer a ride.
8. To show love by giving of his time and money.
9. To engage in physical activities that develop masculine stamina; a six-pack can be an icing.
10. To wait on a lady, our sense of timing is sometimes one hour late.
11. Finally….I would have taught him to propose to a lady without making her wait forever.
